Alumni Reunion: Together Once Again

Over 500 of UOM Alumni traveled back to Moratuwa to reconnect with one another, interact with lecturers and undergraduates and see how university has grown since their time at UOM. The main attraction was the formal gathering at lagan which was followed by several other events to suit the desire of each Alumni.

Tighten your belts. It’s Inter-Uni season again! While the heat of the ongoing games mesmerizes the hearts of the current undergraduates, the roots of Inter-Uni Games run back to the late 1950’s. It all runs back to the time when the first university of Sri Lanka was established.

Let’s fix the "Mind Set" to become Champions

MORALE 2017 started on 05th of May at 12.15 p.m. to motivate MORA sportsmen and sportswomen for upcoming Inter University games and witnessed the launching ceremony of MoraSpirit website for inter university games. Captains, vice captains and five members of each UoM sport team participated for this memorable event.

Fittest, Strongest, Fastest, MORA CrossFit !

When marking a new milestone in the sports of UoM, rowing crew of University of Moratuwa organized Mora CrossFit Competition to find the fittest team among university sports teams. The competition conducted by GRIT Sports and Fitness CrossFIt Center which is a leading professional CrossFit conducting institute in Sri Lanka. It was held at Unoversity of Moratuwa on 28th of February.

Rowing crew of University of Moratuwa is a set of dreamers for whom excellence has been a habit. For them there are 5 “S” s which have always led them to strive to be the best of the best. They are “Stamina, Speed, Strength, Skill and Spirit”.
Hence, marking a new milestone in the sports history of University of Moratuwa, Mora Rowing Crew is organizing Mora CrossFit Competition, in which all the university sports teams will participate and compete to test these 5 “S” s and battle out to find the fittest sportsman in the university.

15th National Olympic Academy: Another Milestone

The National Olympic Academy (NOA) with the participation of South Asian Regional National Olympic Committees was conducted by the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Sri Lanka and stepped into its 15th milestone; also created another version of the program as well. The NOA Program held at the National Holiday Resort in Bandarawela, from 30th November to 03rd December 2016 and hit a great success by the enthusiastic participation of 46 local participants, represented University of Kelaniya, University of Jaffna, University of Peradeniya, University of Moratuwa, University of Uva Wellassa, University of Rajarata, University of Ruhuna, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, Eastern University of Sri Lanka, South Eastern University of Sri Lanka, University of Sri Jayawardenapura, Athletic Association of Sri Lanka, Table Tennis Association of Sri Lanka, Amateur Rowing Association of Sri Lanka, National Shooting Sports Federation, Sri Lanka Judo Association, Football Federation of Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation, National Association of Fencing and Sri Lanka Modern Pentathlon Federation and nine regional youth participants from Bangladesh, Maldives and Pakistan.
