UOC Colours Awards Ceremony

The Colours Awards Ceremony of Univeristy of Colombo was held on the 30th of April 2013 at the BMICH to celebrate their achievements in the year 2012. It was an evening of celebration, where all sports men and women who excelled were awarded colours in recognition of their contribution towards university sports.

The University Mini Olympics Declared Open By the President

The 11th Sri Lanka University Games (SLUG) was inaugurated by the President of Sri Lanka his Excellency Mahinda Rajapaksa, on the 2nd of May 2013, at the opening ceremony held at the University of Moratuwa. This was also attended by the Minister of Higher Education Hon. S.B. Dissanayake, The Vice Chancellor of the University of Moratuwa (UOM) Prof. Ananda Jayawardena, the president of Sri Lanka University Sports Association (SLUSA) Prof. Sohan Wijesekara and various other dignitaries.

SLUG and Wayamba University of Sri Lanka

Wayamba University of Sri Lanka, aka WUSL, has always been a strong contender in many of the Sri Lanka University Games’ sports disciplines. With the exception of the participation in a very few sports like taekwondo, tennis and rowing, the fast uprising university competes ferociously and shoulder to shoulder against the other 13 universities representing this triennial event.

University Rugby Teams Gearing Up for SLUG 2013

Rugby has become one of the sports which is gaining huge amount of fans these days. Due to the success of the Sri Lankan national side at the international arena, fans are much enthusiastic towards Rugby nowadays. As SLUG 2013 is closing up, all university Rugby teams are gearing up for their battle.
