Inter University Cricket intensifies as quarter finals were worked off in the weekend, 3rd and 4th of June, 2017. J’pura, Colombo, Jaffna and Rajarata booked their places for playoffs as they beat their rivals in quarterfinals.

It was 9.00 am on 28th May 2017. Diyagama Mahinda Rajakpaksha stadium was heated up with university athletes attempting to put their victorious innings in the track and field events once again in day two. Track and field is a sport which includes athletic contests established on the skills of running, jumping for heights or distances and throwing. It normally measures individual performance except in the case of relays.  

Track and field is a game of fascinating paradoxes. It’s an individual sport (with relays being the only exception) celebrating personal brilliance, but it’s one in which team camaraderie and mutual support are most visible and valued. It might seem subdued and almost sedate to the casual onlooker, but in any event, at any given moment, magic can unfold, with history books rewritten. This was certainly the case today at the Diyagama Mahinda Rajapakshe Stadium as the Track and Field events of Inter University Games 2017 .
