New gymnasium of Ruhuna University was electrified with motivated voices as Inter University Table Tennis Competition commenced yesterday (16th September). After a short opening ceremony, preliminary rounds began.

The sun peeped from Hanthana Hills for the second day of hockey tournament of Inter University Games 2017. Green grass on Peradeniya grounds welcomed the players and the cheering crowd. The players were refreshed with the pleasant wind, so that hopes had been increased for a great day.

The journey that began a few months back is still on it’s way. But it will reach it’s destination very soon. 14 universities of Sri Lanka started their quest to seek the trophy of Inter-University Games 2017. Day by day, one of them got closer to the trophy while another of them got away from the trophy. However, any of them can battle in the correct track and secure the trophy. Is there any team that can change the game utterly and seek the trophy?

Even a blink of an eye would miss the shots and flips when the paddlers play at a rapid game. Over 13 universities are going to gather around the gymnasium of University of Ruhuna on 16th and 17th of September,2017 to take part in the Inter University Championship. All the TT lovers are graciously invited to come to the university premises and revive their passion as the paddlers smash. University of Sri Jayawardanepura table tennis team notched up the overall victory at the SLUG 2016 and brought an immense pride to the USJP.

The sun shined after continuous days of rain and blessings the hockey players in a great manner. Little rain drops which came down speed up the heartbeats of players and the cheering crowd, but it was a rain of blessing. The dew drops on the ground of University of Peradeniya welcomed the players by kissing the shoes. Balls and the hockey sticks were ready for the battle. Thousands of footprints were kept on Peradeniya grounds to start the hockey matches of Inter University Games 2017.

September 7th and 8th were another two successful days for sports of the Sri Lankan Universities. Two competitors facing one another across a mat surface, fought against each other to bring glory to their own alma-maters. The Gymnasium of University of Ruhuna was brimmed with skillful players with their masterly performance and cheering gangs from different universities establishing the origination of the Inter-University Taekwondo Championship 2017.
