The first match for Agni Cricket team from South-Eastern University, in the ongoing Inter University Games 2017 was held yesterday (13th of May 2017) against last year's second runners up – Rajarata University, at the Rajarata University grounds. The visiting team went on to win the match, making it their first victory in Inter University Games.

The most exciting and amazing sport event of the year "Inter University games 2017" which all of us were waited for, was started today on 06th of May 2017 at University of Moratuwa ground. From today the cricket matches of "Inter University games 2017" will be happening entangling within 12 universities in various grounds around the country.

MORALE 2017 started on 05th of May at 12.15 p.m. to motivate MORA sportsmen and sportswomen for upcoming Inter University games and witnessed the launching ceremony of MoraSpirit website for inter university games. Captains, vice captains and five members of each UoM sport team participated for this memorable event.

The Annual Athletics Meet of UOM was successfully held on 2nd and 3rd of May, 2017 at the university ground premises. The ground was filled up with the current athletes as well as new fresh faces as this is a leading step to show their performances in the upcoming Inter University Games 2017.

Two or four players hitting a light weight ball back and forth across a table using a small racket is the picture that comes to my mind when talking about table tennis. The game takes place on a hard table divided by a net. Fast and quick responding player wins the match series. This is also called as ping pong as the small ball spinning back and forward, has to be balanced between the ping and the pong here. It is a fascinating game to the audience also. So there’s no any doubt for being table tennis, a wonderful game that is highly famous among university students.

The grand arena for all badminton lovers, UMiSF is back! After the initiation in 2007 UMiSF (University of Moratuwa International Shuttlers' Fest) 2017 was held for the 7th consecutive year. It is the annual badminton tournament organized by the badminton team of University of Moratuwa in collaboration with the division of physical education. The main objective of the tournament is to pave the path in taking badminton into the next level by improving the standard of Sri Lankan players and their capacities while developing goodwill and relationships among the sportsmen.
