SLUG-2016| A Wonderful Game of Carrom

Carrom game has been providing family entertainment for all ages throughout the world. Sources state that this game has been originated in India, but some believes that it has been originated in Portugal and even in Burma. Carrom tournament begun in Sri Lanka in 1935 and in 1958, both Sri Lanka and India formed official federations and sponsored tournaments and prizes.

Striker Hits the Disks

The National Carrom Tournament 2016 was held from 16th January to 14th February at Carrom Federation of Sri Lanka, Kohuwala with the participation of over 350 players. The tournament ended up by embracing the new generation of champions of Carrom history. The award ceremony of the tournament was successfully held at the Carom Federation of Sri Lanka on 18th February 2016.

Bright curious eyes were staring to see the next move. Suddenly the striker hit the disks, breaking the silence in the room. This is 48th National Carrom Championship 2016, which is happening these days at Carrom Federation of Sri Lanka, Kohuwela.

University of Moratuwa (UOM), University of Peradeniya (UOP), University of Kelaniya (KEL), University of Colombo (UOC), University of Sri Jayawardenapura (USJP), University of Ruhuna (RUH), University of Wayamba (WAY), University of Visual & Perf. Arts, University of Sabaragamuwa, University of Jaffna (JAF) and University of Rajarata (RAJ) defined their position with intense shots against each rivals with enthusiastic hope of holding the title.
