IUGs 2017| Netball : Who Will Conquer The Court?

The battle for the Inter University Netball Championship started on 12th of August, 2017 at the University of Sabaragamuwa playground at 8 a.m. onwards. It’s the girls’ time to show their talents and pay off for their dedication. Young energetic women players from fourteen universities gathered around the courts with high hopes to perform at their best to be the champ of 2017. In the morning, it was warm and sunny without any indications of rain. All the Netball lovers gathered around the courts to cheer up the teams. There was a big crowd from Sabaragamuwa University as they are the hosting university for the Netball Championship. The cheering spectators made the ground more fervid with their cheering quotes.

IUG Rugby: Pera and Mora swapped their positions challenging the history

Inter University Rugby series concluded Yesterday (12th August) with a tough battle between University of Moratuwa and University of Peradeniya facing stiff opposition from each other arousing curiosity of the audience. Pera won the championship while Mora emerging as the runners up. University of Colombo became second runners up at the Consolation Finals against University of Sri Jayewardenepura.

The luckiest rackets!

The gymnasium of Wayamba University of Sri Lanka was got ready from early morning for the most awaited day. All the badminton lovers representing all universities were gathered to WUSL on 7th August 2017 since the final matches of badminton of Inter University Games 2017 were happened on there.

Mora Men Won 10th Consecutive Title; Colombo Women Completed Whitewash

It was a great day at Colombo Rowing Club when University of Moratuwa and University of Colombo locked horns for the titles of Inter University Regattta 2017. UOM Oarsmen dominated the men’s races while UOC’s women completed the whitewash. Lads from UOM won 10th consecutive title reiterating their supremacy. Many races drew the spectators to the winning line as they turned out to be nerve-tingling. Audience were able witness a splendid regatta at Beira Lake and many Old Mora, Old UOC oarsmen and women came to support their teams. They didn’t forget to spell the names “Mora” and “Colombo” whenever they defeated their rivals.

Final rackets were selected !

After resting for about a one whole night, badminton rackets and the shuttlecocks were gathered early in the morning. The sun shine also peaked to the gymnasium of Wayamba University of Sri Lanka looking for the talents of the players and the gymnasium was warmed with the breaths of the players.
