UOM Cricket Season Begins on a Winning Note

The UOM Cricket team recorded their biggest win in history against P.C.R.C (Professionals' C.R. Club) at the first round match of the Colombo Division III, played at the university grounds. This match marked the beginning of the new season for UOM cricket under the captaincy of Sahan Perera. Playing his first match as the captain, Sahan dazzled spectators by scoring a century. Bowlers, Nisitha Wijewardena and Daminda Dhananjaya also made their maiden five wicket hauls.

Badminton Selections for Summer Universiade 2013

Players from universities, Moratuwa, Colombo, Japura, Wayamba, Ruhuna, and Sabragamuwa enthusiastically rallied at the selections for the World Universities badminton championships. The Badminton court at University of Moratuwa was occupied on the 22nd, 23rd, and 24th of February 2013 filled with rackets and shuttlecocks.

Rugby Season Kicks Off

8th February 2013 was a special day for Mora Rugby as they had their first practice match of the season with Royal College, Colombo at the Royal College Sports Complex. The Mora Rugby team was captained by Charith Fonseka and the Royal College team was captained by the Sri Lanka Youth player, Rimze Jamaldeen.

Moratuwa Sharks Makes History for Take on The World Universities

There was a superb display of cricket at P. Sara stadium Colombo in the Red Bull Campus Cricket Finals. There were great moments that one would never forget including superb catches, run outs, great fielding efforts and even miss fields. Finally The most consistent team of the tournament, Moratuwa Sharks claimed the victory of the first ever inter university T20 tournament of Sri Lankan cricket after winning a game filled with great deal of tension.

Spirited Lions Snatch Third Spot of Red Bull Campus Cricket 2013

Awesome bowling display backed with superb fielding ensured a gripping victory to Peradeniya Lions in the third place game of Red Bull Cricket Championship. A game that was seemed already taken by the Wayamba Heroes was well fought by the Lions to defend a total of 96 in a pitch which seemed to have more runs.
