Colombo claims the Inter University title in style

The most anticipating cricketing event in the university arena took place on 14th July, where the ambitious Colombo team took on the ultimate under dogs, Mora. The exclusive display of cricketing action by both sides made it sure to remain the entire audience at the edge of their seats.

The most awaited final of the Inter University Championship 2018: Cricket Final is to be held at the grounds of University of Kelaniya on 14th of July at 9:00 am. The finalists are University of Moratuwa (UOM) and University of Colombo (UOC) who has performed excellently on the grounds.

After two days of magnificent cannonballs and deep shots the third day unfolded giving way to the most anticipated inter-university tennis matches of the whole year. Both finals were pure magic as all teams fought neck and neck to make the title their own. Final countdown to the finals between Mora and Colombo commenced amidst the cheers and encouragements of the supporters of both teams.

The day was perfect for a cricket match. Not a single rainy cloud passed over the ground. Pitch was just as perfect for a semi-final. University of Jaffna and University of Colombo were hopefully waiting to secure their place in the upcoming finals of the IUG 2018.

After the exclusive cricketing action in the preliminary rounds, 8 teams were to clash in the quarterfinals arena and prove themselves truly worthy of the prestigious IUG title of 2018. These 8 cricketing giants made it sure that this epic encounter will be another thriller filled with excitement, a bit of drama and some nail biting finishes.

Mandapa Takes Mora Soccer to Semi-Finals

With the participation of 715 teams from 60 different leagues, FA Cup Championship 2018 was started at the end of April this year. The defending champions of Sri Lanka Universities’ Football League, University of Moratuwa opened their FA Cup Championship yesterday posting a thrilling win over South Eastern University of Sri Lanka.

Tournament opener ends in a thrilling tie

(Mora 121-10, Hirusha 44, Thenuwara 4-18 // SAU Nufail 44, THILINA 3-31) On a day that simply beggared belief, South Eastern University (SAU) tied with Mora in an incredible match in Moratuwa. Thilina Kasun was Mora's inspiration, producing a crucial hat trick on 23rd over to remove confidently looking Nufail and to turn the match from ending as a one-sided affair to a thrilling tie. The match was supposed to take place on Saturday but due to rain only 10 overs were bowled on that day but the remaining match was played out on this sunny Sunday morning.
