Solace to the Thumping Heartbeats

It was 9.00 am on 28th May 2017. Diyagama Mahinda Rajakpaksha stadium was heated up with university athletes attempting to put their victorious innings in the track and field events once again in day two. Track and field is a sport which includes athletic contests established on the skills of running, jumping for heights or distances and throwing. It normally measures individual performance except in the case of relays.  

Battle of the gods with the golden rackets! UMiSF 2017!

The grand arena for all badminton lovers, UMiSF is back! After the initiation in 2007 UMiSF (University of Moratuwa International Shuttlers' Fest) 2017 was held for the 7th consecutive year. It is the annual badminton tournament organized by the badminton team of University of Moratuwa in collaboration with the division of physical education. The main objective of the tournament is to pave the path in taking badminton into the next level by improving the standard of Sri Lankan players and their capacities while developing goodwill and relationships among the sportsmen.

SLUG 2016 | Put your arms composed, to let the volleyball taking wings in the firmament..(Day 01)

Team work makes the dream work. That can be perceived very evidently wanting any suspicion in the present day, (9th of September 2016) at the Kuliyapitiya University premises in the Volleyball matches of SLUG. Volleyball is one of a great way to build up team unity and inner self, where the spirit of service and spiking lives on. They are not waitresses but they know how to serve. Pain is temporary, but the pride is forever as the champions of SLUG history. The outstanding matches were bring into being now for three days by allocating all the universities into four groups.

SLUG-2016|Moratuwa, Colombo, Japura, Kelaniya Took a Lead on Day 01- Tennis

Tennis matches of the SLUG 2016 was commenced on yesterday (26.07.2016) at gymkhana tennis club premises. Matches were officially started after the opening ceremony and Mr R.J Wellassa and Dr U.S Liyanarachchi were invited as chief guests for the opening ceremony. The tournament that started yesterday will span over duration of 4 days (26, 27, 28,29th of July) and Men’s and women’s matches are scheduled under two groups.

UMiSF| End of another Tremendous Episode

UMiSF tournament organized by the Badminton team of University of Moratuwa was concluded on 16th May, 2016 at the university gymnasium with huge success. From the beginning of 6th May to 16th May, the event was covered by MoraSpirit crew since the big event is another smashing episode in university sports arena. As we already revealed you, the history of the UMiSF in the beginning of our article series let’s get on to the final day of the tournament.

Striker Hits the Disks

The National Carrom Tournament 2016 was held from 16th January to 14th February at Carrom Federation of Sri Lanka, Kohuwala with the participation of over 350 players. The tournament ended up by embracing the new generation of champions of Carrom history. The award ceremony of the tournament was successfully held at the Carom Federation of Sri Lanka on 18th February 2016.
