It was a dramatic end to the Elle men championship as well as the overall Inter University Games with Mora men securing the gold medal in Elle (men) paving way for University of Moratuwa to become joint champions of Inter Uni Games 2014 along with University of Colombo.

Japura Dominates Athletics

The 2nd and final day of the interuniversity athletic championship came to a successful finish with University of Jayewardenapura coming up on top with a whopping total of 159 points followed by University of Sabaragamuwa at 135 points and University of Peradeniya at 93 points. University of Moratuwa and Colombo came in fourth both winning a total of 68 points. It was an exhilarating event with the athletes’ excellent performances on the field brightening up an overcast day.

Japura Leads the Charge at Athletics

Day one of the athletics interuniversity championships took off today at Diyagama stadium. It was an action packed day full of excitement and surprises as the athletes raced to victory bringing glory and pride to their alma maters. At the end of the day University of Sri Jayewardenapura stands strong at first place with 87 points followed by Sabaragamuwa University (67 points) and University of Peradeniya (45 points).
