‘Home Wins Gold’ - the Inter University Football Championship 2014

UoJ, were once again crowned Champions at the 2014 Inter University Football Championship as they easily took down SEUSL for 2-0.

The Inter-University Taekwondo championship was held successfully at the Gymnasium of University of Peradeniya. UOM players performed exquisitely on the fighting floor to win both men and women championships under the captaincy of Tharindu Rusiru Kumara and coaching of Mr. Seo Won Cheol

76th Madras Colombo Regatta

The Colombo Rowing Club celebrates its 150th anniversary this year. The 76th Madras Colombo regatta took place this Saturday, 26th of July at Beira lake, the first of four international regattas. This is the 3rd oldest race in the history of competitive boat racing and it all started back in 1898 forging an unbreakable friendship and mutual respect between the rowers of the two respective countries.

Red Bull Campus Cricket World Finals to get Underway in July

The Red Bull Campus Cricket World Finals is an annual event which brings together the best among the best in university cricket from cricket-playing nations around the world. Each year, one team from each participating country is selected through a Red Bull Campus Cricket local tournament from which the winning team gets the chance to compete in this grand global event.

Mora Rowing Victorious at Nationals

Mora Rowing ended the season on a high note with the completion of the 29th Annual Rowing National Championship on 28th June 2014 at Diyawanna lake. The crew remained steadfast in the face of tough competition of the military forces, schools and clubs. And it is this combined effort and dedication of the crew that has made Mora Rowing a formidable force in the rowing community of Sri Lanka.

Sabaragamuwa settle for consolation win

University of Colombo and the Sabaragamuwa University came together in the consolation final of the Inter-University Rugby championships to salvage what pride they could after losing their respective semifinal matches. UoC fought hard in their game against Pera but in the end Pera managed to snatch a come-from-behind victory of 13-5 which left the UoC boys with low morale. Meanwhile, Sabaragamuwa were steamrolled by Mora as they lost 27-00 in their match. Both semifinals were played at the Air Force grounds in Rathmalana.
