Badminton Selections for Summer Universiade 2013

Players from universities, Moratuwa, Colombo, Japura, Wayamba, Ruhuna, and Sabragamuwa enthusiastically rallied at the selections for the World Universities badminton championships. The Badminton court at University of Moratuwa was occupied on the 22nd, 23rd, and 24th of February 2013 filled with rackets and shuttlecocks.

MORA shined at the 9th Korea Cup Taekwondo Championship

The 9th Korea Cup Championship was held on 13th and 18th November, 2012 at the New Stadium at the Race Course ground and at the indoor sports complex of St. Joseph’s College. The tournament was organized by the Korea International Cooperation Agency and Sri Lanka Taekwondo Federation and sponsored by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea. The tournament integrated three categories namely, Inter-School, Inter-University and Open Championship.

Carrom Shoots!

 

After postponements, ups and downs, Inter University Games 2012 came to a conclusion with a series of thrilling games of Carrom.
 

University of Kelaniya (KEL), University of Moratuwa (UOM), University of Peradeniya (UOP), University of Colombo (UOC), University of Sri Jayawardenapura (USJP), University of Ruhuna (RUH), University of Wayamba (WAY), University of Jaffna (JAF) and University of Rajarata (RAJ) made the ‘shots’ against each other with the hope of ‘pocketing’ the title!

Ruhuna Raise the bar at the Inter-Uni Weight Lifting Championship 2012…

 

With three gold medals under their belt, University of Ruhuna (RUH) emerged champions at Inter-uni weight lifting championship 2012. University of Colombo (COL), University of Moratuwa (MOR) & University of Jaffna (JAF) also clinched a gold medal each.

Sabra Dominates Inter-University Athletics Championship

‘Sabra’, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka (SAB)held a formidable dominance at the Inter-University Athletics Championship 2012. In the overall point calculation, SAB athletes bagged 144 points, while University of Colombo (COL) emerged second with 113 points. University of Peradeniya (PER)were the overall third with 105 points.
