SAB Marked The First Win of The SLUG 2013 Rugby Season

Everything was arranged smoothly at the Havelock grounds to host the first match of the SLUG 2013 Rugby season. From the start, both sides gave a strong competition to each other. SAB finished off the match with 22-0 ,getting a great start for the tournament. Although KEL couldn’t add points in front of their name, they were able to give a tough game to SAB .

Rain Playing The Villain in The Japura vs Sabra Clash

This is one of those days when you cant say “At the end of the day Cricket is the winner”! What was shaping up to be a good thriller was stopped short by the rain. With the reduced overs, University of Sabaragamuwa put a 140 on the scoreboard and at the end of the day University of Jeyawardanepura had 56/5 in 11 overs. This match will be resumed from the same point tomorrow.

SLUG Tennis Day 3 Brings More excitement with the Semifinals

SLUG tennis championship games continued for the third consecutive day at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association today. UOP men made their way to the grand final of SLUG tennis championship. Their opponent will the winner of the double between UOC and UOM which will be held tomorrow. Women's matches were halted in order to continue tomorrow due to time constraints as the day drew to an end.

SLUG Tennis Day 2 is an Entertainment Package

Following the magnificent first day at the court, the second day of Tennis took place at SLTA which is also known as the Sri Lanka Tennis Association. The day is filled with talents, sportsmanship and surprises as the teams battled for the ultimate glory of winning the first title of SLUG 2013.

The stage is set for the most awaited sporting event among the sporting community of the Sri Lankan universities. Although the official opening ceremony is yet to commence on 2nd May at the host grounds ,some sports such as tennis, rugby and carrom will have their matches prior to that.
 

Badminton Selections for Summer Universiade 2013

Players from universities, Moratuwa, Colombo, Japura, Wayamba, Ruhuna, and Sabragamuwa enthusiastically rallied at the selections for the World Universities badminton championships. The Badminton court at University of Moratuwa was occupied on the 22nd, 23rd, and 24th of February 2013 filled with rackets and shuttlecocks.

A Cameo by Silva puts Wayamba Heroes into the Semi-finals

Wayamba won the second quarter final clash of the day, to enter the semi finals of the tournament. Wayamba Heros chased Sabragamuwa Dangerous’ total score of 109 with ease and taught Jaffna Bulls some lessons on how to chase middling scores in T20 format.
